Photographer’s Note
fortress in Pirot, named Momchilov Grad after medieval Serbian local ruler Momchilo who built it in mid 14th century.
But fortification on this place existed since Thracian times, first time mentioned in Roman times as roman fortress Turres (meaning - Tower), a name which translated into Greek would be Pirgos, therefore, root of modern name Pirot.
today, fortress is used for... well, having romantic moments with beloved one (as seen from the photo :)
you can also use it as a public toilet :) I saw 6 people doing it in my 15 minutes short stay, amazing!
