This is peaceful Lake Edith in Jasper National Park, the Canadian Rockies. It's situated about five kilometers from the small town of Jasper and features the only cottages in all of Alberta's National Parks.

From a Raw photo, cropped and contrast altered in Photoshop CS.

Thatsa colourful lake indeed and very well captured by you in all its glory. the crystal hues of the water are great and so are the lights and the colours all over. You have a great pov here and have used the space well to tell your story. Nice work.

I’m impressed again rock colors in deep of lake. Your very clear and sharp photo gives all details while using lower position too. I like great color spectrum on lake green and of course visitors that adds life needed for your photo and helping us imagine scaling your excellent landscape view. Green forest, mountains and of course beautiful cloudy, blue sky are spectacular. Congratulations.

Great shot Doug! I like the way you can see the rocks in the bottom of the lake, and that incredible colour of the water too. This is a great addition to your Rocky Mountain collection.

Good deep shot Doug.
I like the way the definition is lost on the lake bed as the water deepens leading you into the image. A great mix of terrains and a nice human/movement element, it isn't essential here but adds something a bit different.
The lines also are very clean both the terrains and the lines of colour.
Beautiful, refreshing image.

Hi Doug:

Pretty shot of Lake Edith. I still have to get up to Jasper. I love the clarity of the water, and the inclusion of the floating vacationers out on the lake. I think the light would have been better if the shot were taken earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon, but otherwise it's a great shot. Nice job.

I really like this one. I think it's the color. I've looked over a bunch of your photos. You fill up the frame nicely without distracting from your subject, good job that takes practice.
