In a dhaba eatery along the the rickety fishing jetty in Vanakbara, the oldest fishing settlement on Diu's western coast - a plate of rice, fish of course, and perhaps some palak paneer. The afternoon light sliced through the window as I stared out at the sea with a warm beer. Indians, and weary travellers love Diu for numerous reasons. But it's still almost devoid of tourists.

A Provia 100 slide scanned on a Canon FS4000 scanner and developed in CS2.

Hello Caleb,
C'est magnifique, quelle lumière... c'est de grand art.
Roland

The light is just perfect, his fixed expression as he reaches for his water, could be portugese rather than indian, but that water jug bothers me.

Boy, you're playing with fire here, C (lighting-wise), but I must say you handled it very well, both the glaring sunlight and the inner reddish glow on the man's face. Very painterly shot. I like that you learned to "isolate" your scenes in India (armed with your trusty 24-70). In other words you know how to "pick your fights".
Very nice work,
Francis

Hi Caleb,

Hi Caleb, what a beautiful scene and portrait of the man. Amazing lightning and strong colours. Would love to see it big sized on a wall. This is for my favorite list.

Hi Caleb
Nice light and atmosphere and colours. Nice subject to of the lonely man there.
greetings Albrecht

Hi Caleb,

This one is great. The view of the man and the details on the table. I just think you could have cropped it differently so I have tried to do a ws.
