I like this picture. The scene you show is quite beautiful and Mt Rainier looks huge from this perspective. Very nice inclusion of the road to lead the eyes deeper into the picture. Good timing also to take the picture before the mountain got engulfed in clouds.

When I last visited Rainier, I had reservations at Paradise Lodge. After having driven all day to get there, I was to find this road closed due to a massive rockslide. So I was never to get further than the entrance and the campground out on the highway. This veiw of the road, with the mountain partial covered in cloud is great. You know how I love road shots anyway.. ;)

Lovely photo showing the stunning view of this mountain range. Not to be picky or anything Steve, but I think you could have tilted this one a little to the left a little. The trees on the left lean in from the lens distortion just as the road seems a little tilted to the right. A great photo that in my estimation needs a tilt correction. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Stephen,
How I would love to drive down this road. Its like driving right into nature's waiting lap. Excellent POV with the metalled road and the yellow lines leading us to the beautiful mountain.

Hello, Stephen--
Nice work here, i like this more than your other one. i think that the light gave you nice intensity and saturation here, and your exposure was spot-on, with that grad filter used really well--i wouldn't have known that you used one if you hadn't listed it.
Thanks!

Hallo Stephen!
This is a really breathtaking sight. I like the very natural colours in your picture and it's build up. It has a wonderful depth. the wavering fog gives an a bit mysterious atmosphere.
But I think, the real road to paradise isn't as comfortable as this one ... ;-)
Greetings from Germany!

Hi Steve,
The road is a powerful pointer into the image, especially thanks to the double yellow line, and behind that I like the majesty of the peaks as the hanging clouds move away, very nice one.
Have a nice day,

Bonjour, Stephen,
Il existe des moments qui possèdent des effets magiques, c'est le cas ici. La beauté est saisissante, il fallait faire vite apparemment pour éviter d'être noyé dans la brume.
Une excellente prise de vue.
Amitiés.

Ranier is such a massive mountain that it fills the sky when you get close to it. In this shot you show that effect very well, with the road leading us right to the mountain. I like the clouds swirling around the peak too, which makes is a little mysterious and even more massive. Well done!

Great scenery, Steve. Good use of the road diagonal (including the bright yellow line) to lead the viewer's eye into the photo. Nice details on the mountain slopes in the back too, partially obscured by the low clouds. I think you could rotate a little to the left or do some perspective adjustment on the lefthand side. Nice one overall.

Hello Stephen,
Regards.
Daniel.

Hi Stephen,
Nice 'on the road again' compo, with partially hidden peaks adding atmosphere, nicely saturated colors and correct sharpness.framing is fine too.. makes one feel like hitting that road!

Hi Steve,
I do remeber the prior post; I believe I like this one even better because there is more of a sense of travelling to the mountain, more detail in the roadside folige and more blue in the sky. I also think your PP skills have improved but there's nothing I really can pinpoint so petrhaps it's only that I like the framing better. HLJ, Pat

You have to be lucky to see Mt Rainier without cloud cover so you did right to pull over to take this. I like the way you composed the image so the road comes into the frame diagonally from the left corner.

Hej Stephen,
Great view down the road towards the mountain. The high, slender trees on both sides of the road are nice too. It's really nice to see the clouds around the mountain peak. Well captured!

Hi Stephen,
You have been squirreling this little gem away...The contrast and lighting here are really well managed, with the misty cloud providing great ambience. The powder blue sky adds an extra element of colour that counterbalances the prevaling green and brown tones of the foreground, as well of course as contrasting with the snow and clouds. I love the way the road angles through the frame, taking the eye and soul with it. A very fine capture.

Hi Stephen,
seems like I missed a lot of your shots,
but I'll be back!
Compared to the previous post from the same
spot, this one has got better colours and
much more contrast... and the mountain looks
smaller.
Funny how different focal length can make
a huge difference!

Hi Stephen,
The yellow lines middle of the road care for a excellent perspective and depth, gives the low cloud togehter with the mountains a very nice composition. Nice contrast picture too! TFS.
Have a nice weekend,
John.

Hi Stephen - even if the summit is shrouded in clouds, this is still beautiful, the exposure is ideal under this difficult and contrasty light, if I had to nitpick I would clone out the milepost.

Hello Stephen,
What a spectacular mountain scene! The composition, colors and exposure are all flawless, and do justice to the scene. The low hanging clouds add mystique to the photo.
