This detail shows us a landlord, depicted on attic
of the renaissance belfry, which was built in 1629 in the spiš town Strážky.
During this epoch such belfries were built as separately standing buildings near to the churches.

Interesting note, I can not imagine that a belfry could be built apart from the church, I always relate them together.

Hi Lucia,

the thing that strikes me is that from afar this image looks so architectural and symmetrical .. but when you look at it .. it is full of asymmetry .. fluidity .. humanness .. well seen and composed.

I like this kind of Art, simple and emmited from an its time attitude.
great contrast,light and colors but if there was some more sky on top it was more intresting.
specialy by this black frame.
