Photographer’s Note

Hi everyone!

This year I won’t have any time to see the Carnival feasts, so I bring to you a view of Sines’s Carnival, at the last year.

Sines’ Carnival has a long spree and amusement tradition which dates before 1926 (so, we believe …). On the past year, this feast commemorated 49 years of realization.
For long time, it was a spontaneous act of the Sines inhabitants, but in 1956, a group of young people transforms this spontaneous action in something more organized.
From that time to ours days, this marvellous feast had suffered successive updates of conception and localization.

About Sines, it’s a small industrialized city located in Portugal’s west coast, 181kms far from Sintra and 158kms far from Lisbon, to the South. Here are installed the most important portuguese refineries.

Now, I leave you with this full coloured shot of this lovely Sines’ Carnival feasts in 2006.
