On this very cloudy day, some villagers were watching me when I took this picture, and were encouraging the children to sit nicely together. The area doesn't see many tourists yet, so contact with local people is still very relaxed. Compared to 20 years ago when I first travelled extensively through China, people are in general much more relaxed towards tourists these days. It has become more pleasant to travel. Of course, nowadays the Chinese also understand the economic advantages of tourism (= money) and are rapidly developping the more intresting but remote area's for tourism. But don't let that frighten you, just go there. It's beautiful !!
