Photographer’s Note
I am getting back to my trip to Masada...
After reaching Masada's gate, we enjoyed the view over the Dead sea and the mountains across.
Masada as I mentioned before is a plateau mountain with a length of 650 meters and maximum width of 300 meters - BIG!
The northern part of the mountain top is a bit more elevated, thus, a tower post was positioned there, controlling both the eastern and western entrances as well as the paths that lead to the warehouses and the northern palace (which we will visit shortly...). This watch tower also control the traffic into and out of the compound as well as maintaining order.
More to come...

Hi Chen,
Masada eh.....what an impressive site it is to see.Must get a chance to take some images there myself.I like the perspective you have chosen here showing the trail up.Good detail and clarity, the sky though maybe a touch empty for such a cut.Might be getting a TE meeting together in a couple of weeks....you interested?

*I don't know too much about the site you have just photographed, but I know one thing...
I like the way you have presented this place to us, Chen.
I like the texture of the sandy ground, in this late afternoon sun - long shadows create such a marvelous surface.
There is certain misticism in those places. We tend to ask right away: How old is that place? Is this some biblical site? Was Jesus walking there ?
It usually comes to: Naaaah...It was just built few years (or decades) ago as a military post !!!
Beautifully composed. Beautifully presented.

Hello, Chen--
Nice work here, at close to a 90 degree angle from the sun your polarizer really worked well to saturate the colors, and the contrast between the orange foreground and the blue sky is great. The human element is nice, seeming a little out of place against the harsh sand and rock around him.
Thanks!

Excellent compo, POV and colors, I like the golden sand contrasting with the blue sky. Picturesque watch-tower. The tourist and the banister are well-captured add-ins.

Hi Chen,
Wonderful saturated colours, a simple composition but its the light which makes this so special. The post processing is spot-on.

Hi Chen
A strong sun, end of the day, judging from the shadows, giving a beautiful warming light to the place.
Good use of the path as a line taking us to the tower, under a well polarise sky.
Have a good WE
Charles
