Photographer’s Note
I shot this image while lying on the beach in Kefallonia. Myrtos beach is one the best rated beaches in the world. The colors of the water are unbelievable. The landscape around the beach is pretty spectacular as well. I'm not the type of person who enjoys sitting on the beach all day unless the place is really special, Myrtos is one of those places.

Spiros,
What can I say, WOW! I have tried this effect on similar stones here on Australian beaches. Your close crop to the horizon is very well presented, and the rich saturations of the water again another bonus. Clear and sharp, visually impressive and well framed. There is nothing more needed to help enhance this shot, it is good the way it is. Well done, indeed!

It looks special indeed! Good job presenting it photographically. The low-angle and the choice of DOF works well. And a gorgeous colour of the sea. It looks like a place to visit. I'd never heard of it before. But I'll definitely bear in mind if I get a chance to go to Greece.
Best,

Spiros: You'll get alot of attention for this one. All the more so because of film I'm intereested in the bowing of your horizona here - but this is straight from Photography 101. Nicely captured. regards, c

Hello Spiros,
With this picture, I believe you hit a home run. It is a highly original shot, well conceived and implimented. The highly polished and rounded stones resemble the stones in a riverbed in Alabama, which are used for path along which NASA rockets are rolled out onto their launching pads. They are very hard stones, and the polished, rounded forms cut down the friction -- allowing the massive weight of the rocket and gantry.
What is also very appealing in your photo is the way the spherical shapes converge in size with distance, a requirement of perspective. If you have time take a look at a shot Bonguensa Lanterns by a very good photographer, Benjamin Voborsky

Hi Spiros,
Very nice photo, the low POV resulted in a very good view, I like the DOF aswell, with some of the pebbles in front and the sea in the back a touch out of focus. Sharpness, exposure and quality are fine. Blue of the sea has a natural colour, atleast, it's natural for Myrtos Beach! Good to see Myrtos Beach from so close, I've only seen it from above (though that isn't bad, you can view the photo's I've made there under the "Myrtos beach" section)

Hi Spiros
Actually I'd be feeling sore all over lying on these rocks. The details of the rocks are excellent and contrast well against the turquoise sea. The vertical format works well here creating depth although I would have cropped out the shadow in the bottom right as the eye is inevitabley drawn there instead of to the sea.

Nikki

Hi Spiros - I've seen many photos of this beach from above, but never been to Kefalonia (yet!)this is an interesting detail, it could be taken at any pebble beach in the Med I suppose, but that's not the purpose is it? The crab's eye view is what grabs the attention, and the graphical fg complements the nice colours of the sea.

Kalispera Spiros.
This beach looks very nice and the reason are not only the colours given by the light. Also the photo by itself and exactly to the POV, give this nice feeling.
