Photographer’s Note
The City of San Juan Capistrano is a unique community grounded in a history of native American culture, the Mission was established by Franciscan missionaries in 1776. Each march, there is an event where the city celebrates the yearly return of the swallows back to Capistrano. The city is steeped in California history. Pictured is one of the walls which still stand as a part of the "Great Stone Church". In 1812 a massive earthquake struck during morning mass. The walls crumbled and the domes caved in. The church was never rebuilt.

Hey Michael,
when i spotted your picture, i presumed it must be here in Europe...obviously i got it wrong!
This is a great shot (nice sharpness & brightness) & also the background history teaches me a little about your history.
Welcome to TrekEarth :)

Great exposed shot. I like the POV of the shot, and all the detail the shot has. The only thing that itches me is the crop at the top. A little more sky between the top of the wall and the annoying itch would be cured. But other than that, great shot and great background on the Mission.

Great color and contrast. Would love to see a little more sky and landscape, with maybe a little less of the ground. Love the architechture.
