homeless with cop Photo

Photographer’s Note

I was getting out of a car to walk into a park when I saw this scene across the street. I fumbled quickly for my camera and fired as many shots as I could of this. He was looking in my direction but it was as if he didn't see me or care I was taking a picture of him. The cop didn't notice me at all either. I have to say this is one of my favorite photographs to date.

A good shot showing a reality. What happend after? Was the cop giving him a fine or some sort of penalty? Would you have been able too zoom in them a little more?

A very theatrical composition. The all black of the police and his car gives them a special apperance in the picture where everything else is bright and colored. This picture starts a lot of questions - what was the problem, why couldn´t he sit there, what happened next etc.

Good journalism, we need more of this kind.

Ah i have found the original version of your shot from TL! I think this is one of the best shots from your gallery, there is a few more I will comment on in due course but I like to see this one as its quite funny how the guy on the bench doesnt seem to care!

The beer on the bench next to him is a great addition I think, as thats what hes in trouble for!
