Photographer’s Note
This is not the Netherlands ... we don't have hills where we grow them.
This is not the Netherlands ... we don't have red sand.
So this has to be somewhere else?
That's right it's Tassie as the Aussies say or Tasmania for the rest of the world.
Tasmania is named after the Dutchman Abel Tasman who discovered it long ago. Since then many Dutch emigrated Down Under. A guy Van Diemen was one of them and he started his own landcompany. The tulipgrowery to whom this field belongs is still called Van Diemen and is located on the Rocky Cape on the northern coast of Tasmania between Wynyard and Stanley.
An other photo of this same tulip field can be found here.

Wow, what an amazing view of the sea of tulips! I like the angle you took of the rows of tulips, so that the strips of colour run diagonally across the picture. Thanks for sharing this, I didn't know you can get views of tulips like this in Australia, and I live in Australia! (not Tassie though)

hej Harko.
Fast mycket humor är det i att du åker till tasmanien för att fotografera Tulpaner.
There's a nice twist i the tuliprows that takes away the staticfeeling and makes the picture more intressting.

Hi Harko,
That sounds a bit crazy for a project, a Dutch travelling all the way to the other end of the planet to shoot... tulips under a Dutch sky !!!
;-)
fun apart it's a very pleasant perspective and the colors are well lit providing a vivid impression despite the cloudy sky, I like it.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Harko
What a different view of Tassie !
Your pov showing the rows of flowers on a diagonal is very dyanamique. The colours are nicely saturated and contrast well against the dark sky. THe cows in the background are a nice touch.

Amazing colorful scenery, Harko. It almost doesn't seem real...Excellent perspective and composition with all the patterns filling up the whole image. ...but you have such tulips in Neatherlands, don't you? Not in hills (I allways remember the phrase "how flat can you get?"), but in the plains, right? Great shot!
Cheers,
Ricardo

Hi Harko
This is indeed a great shot! colors and sky are great and I really appreciate the perspective given by the flowers alignment. I would maybe have tried to remove the area with the cows and grass which from my point of view is breaking a little bit the composition.

Hi Harko - indeed the flat landscape of the NL does not allow a higher perspective like this, the red earth also makes it interesting, the busy sky makes a nice match.

Hi Harko,
these tulip fields are really beautiful.
I was attracted with the geometric lines they are creating, they seem to have the same height,it´s very interesting.
It would be nice to have them around my house.Very beautiful place, well photographed.

Hi Harko,
I can't believe that. You went to Tasmania to photograph tulips !? Were you nostalgic of your country, so far from home ?
It's a beautiful picture with good light and vivid colors. Beautiful and strange considering the place where that is located. Thanks to the hills you gave some movement to your lines that became soft curves.

France
