Photographer’s Note

We were all waiting. Like parishoners at mass waiting for communion. We had all come out of the windswept, wet, cold, east, on a rare day of sun. We had come to the west end of America to watch a giant 5 billion year old nuclear fusion reaction as it set into the Pacific Ocean. The gulls were watching too. Then it was gone, gone to lighten the other side of the globe. And we turned to walk back on the dark cold beach for the long drive back home.
