Photographer’s Note
This is one of the first pictures I took when my camera was new and I had still not got around to understanding it. It was a very wet monsoon day, we had been for a drive to Wilson dam and from there a few km upwards here in the shadow of Kalsubai the highest peak here. On either side of us lay small villages and paddy fields. Children from the villages were everywhere using these platic sheets as cover they seemed to be enjoying themselves. Cold barefoot yet full of joy de vivre as anyone who has been rural India must have witnessed. I missed a wonderful pic as one of them came running with an open umbrella this one is not as exciting but it still portrays some of that day. There are better pics showing the huts and waterfalls streaking down the hills but I thought I would share this one today.
