This photograph is from my friend's aquarium...

This cichlid species is Pseudotropheus elongatus... In Lake Malawi, the genus Pseudotropheus occurs almost everywhere. Pseudotropheus elongatus is a "distinguished" species showing a more slender, and elongated, body. The basic coloration is blue, but details vary extensively; the male has eye-spots (ocelli) on the anal fin. Size: 12 cm. And like most mbuna, this species is primarily vegetrian; consequently, it should be fed foods high in spirulina and other vegetable matter.
