Photographer’s Note

When we were visiting Kerala, we decided to go in land to the spice mountains in Priyar which is where they grow and farm tea, vanilla pods and other spices that are then sold around the country and world. We got up early one morning and took a boat ride around the lake nearbye and i became absolutely mesmirised by these branches/slender tree trunks that emerged misteriously from the surface of the lake. they looked so beautifully carved and composed together that i just had to photograph them.

Hi Latifah. This photo caught my eye right away in the thumbnails. It's beautiful, calm and has a lovely mood. The light and contrast is very good and you have managed to make a simple motive into a sophisticated photo. Well caught with the your eye and your camera. You write it is black and white, but I don't think so, I can see some green, and when I make it b & w it gets really b & w. See my workshop. Nevermind, I love your photo, black and white or in color. I like the way the background fades away, with hints of distant shapes.

Very sculpturally.

A wee note would be good to explain why the tree branches are here.

Nice photograph. You were in 'God's Own Country' (that's what they call Kerala). Hope to see more of Kerala pics from you. One of my favored destination, maybe will go their on bike from Delhi where I live (distance of about 3000 kms) next year sometime.
