when we drove out of the city to the countryside i saw these men by the side of the road and i found their outline and shadow attractive as it fell on the ground, the effect of the sunlight that lit them from behind became almost magical to me.

Hi, Latifah, that's a great image! Perfect B&W, a beautiful composition. Congratulations!

" Catch of the day" to my eyes delight.
Wonderful work of yours, Latifah.
Great show of lights and shades.
mesmerizing effect,.
Two thumbs up from me...
george

And two thumbs up from me too, Latifah.
Very good photo where you did the best with that backlight that could have kill your photo. Quite the contrary, in fact. That light is a gift here, playing with men and objects to create another dimension. The smoke is another great player here.
I also like the fact that these men seem to have noticed you. There is a recognition and a contact, for my greatest pleasure!
A very good one. You can be proud of it.
Claire

Hi, Latifah,
I love backlit shots and you have done a wonderful job with backlighting on this one. The sepia is great for this. You can make out their features even in the low light. The smoke and shadows are just TOO good. WOW!! TFS, Shelly

HI there, this is a very mysterious one. Great colors effects. The shadow of the 2 men and the smoke in the background are the most important elements in this photo. Great shot and work. Sothy

Good looking countryside scene, Latifah
Interesting situation of these guy in their unigue costume by the smoke machine.
Backlight did a good result on both smoke and shadow.
Nice local life scene,

great square format composition. right balance of light.

Hi Latifah,

Wow, this one I really like. Almost a view from the past! One can almost feel the atmosphere, as if you were part of the scene. Great tone, very interesting picture to look at!

Thumbs up!

Tom

Hello Latifah,
we are irresistibly attracted by the extraordinary light in your picture. There are many points more that make it a wonderful photograph : the contre-jour, the shadows, the standing men's attitude, the smoke, the perfectly modulated contrast and the beautiful sepia tone.
Superb!

Salaam Latifa,

This is a great photograph. By great I mean there is life palpable in every corner of the photograph. There is even life on the path the men are walking. The 'Hukkah' (Indian name of those long pipe where smoke is filtered with water) smoking man in the background renders an amazing depth to the photo. Most of all, it reminds me of a movie, made by famous Bengali director Satyajit Ray 'Alibaba and 40 thieves!"

Cheers
