Photographer’s Note
This lighthouse once showed 2 lights -- one at 63 feet, looking seaward towards Llandudno, and one at 8 feet looking down the River Dee towards Dawpool in Cheshire. It was restored in 1996. The tower was painted with red and white stripes with a red lantern while it was in service. It was replaced by a pile lighthouse in 1844; that light was replaced by a lightship in 1883.
The lighthouse at the Point of Ayr was built of stone in 1819. Designed by Robert Stevenson, it is 99 feet high with four floors and the flashing light has a range of 19 miles.

Hi Ian.
Very nice POV and composition. The sand patterns in the foreground look fantastic. Colours are also outstanding and you've made a very nice job of the exposure.
Good luck.

Yep, I agree with above comments Ian, good work. Just one thing bothers me a little, is that lighthouse vertical, looks like leaning to the right to me. :)

hello Ian,
This is a very pleasing composition. The colours are lovely and I like the trace of a reflection of the lighthouse on the watery sand. All is tranquil/

Hello Ian,
Another view of this lighthouse, even better imo. Great ctoss lighting on the sand and the lighthouse itself. I am particularly taken by the patterns in the wet sand ripples; they are quite fascinating and contrast extremely well with the dry sand to the left. Perfect tones and sharpness.

Hi Ian,
I was taking a look at your gallery and this one simply stood out much like the lighthouse in the picture. I love the beautiful patterns on the sand that leads us all the way to the lighthouse.

Hi Ian, A good composition to enhance the look of the photo. The low point of view gives some details to the foreground and makes the perspective very dynamic. I must admit I have a fascination with lighthouses at the moment and have quite a collect from my recent trip North. Very well done.

Hi Ian
lovely shot, nice composition, love the reflection in the wet sand, left hand side of the lighthouse looks a little burnt out, but this does not distract too much.
