Photographer’s Note
The town of Caloura is down the hill to the sea off the main drive from Ponte del Gada to Vila Franca on Sao Miguel island. It is a wonderful place that has a fishing harbor, cafe, swimming pool and friends that live in the estate you see there. There is also a good community of Germans there. Great SCUBA diving in the protected coves. I just happened to be diving there when there was an earthquake!
