The Treasury Building is concidered to be the best example of Italian Renaissance architecture in the Southern hemisphere. It was erected in three stages between 1886 and 1928. The material is sandstone.
In the 1890s and early 1900s the imposing Treasury Building served as a symbol of self-government and as a focus for celebratory and patriotic displays. The treasury building would be home to many government authorities such as the Registrar-General, Premier, Treasury, Security, Mines, and the Police and the Queensland Government Cabinet met in the building until the 1905. However, from 1989 the Registrar-General was the sole occupant of the building, as other members of the government had moved to newer, more modern, quarters.
Nowadays the building is used as a entertainment center by Conrad Treasury Casino and contains several bars, restaurants and function rooms. (Wikipedia)
In PP I warmed the colors, added some shadow and contrast and sharpend the photo.

Very nice picture. Light and colors are really well catched. And the building is very neat. The artistic structure in front of the building are so strange! Nice perspective too. Well Done, TFS.

I took your shot, and you take mine:) I also took this one recently, but when I did it had this big ugly christmas tree in the way.
Anyway, nice point of view. The colours are good, and the late afternoon shadows are great. I personally don't mind the distortion on our camera at 18mm, but I've done a quick workshop to see if I could fix it. Unfortunately it took too much out of the left, but I posted it anyway.

it's a good pov. the branch in the top corner frames the scene quite well. i've taken some shots around there (check my photos) but nothing as good as this one. well done. nice colours and shadows.

A good shot thanks to your diagonal perspective. The light is indeed good on the impressive building & I note with interest the modern sculptures in shapes of balls in the FG. Good work!

Goed contrast, mooie kleuren en goed scherp. Wel erg veel 'distortion'. Keep it up!

Hi Harko - quite an unusual architectural style for that part of the world, the clouds and branches do a nice job of keeping the sky interesting, good olde worlde charm, somewhat upset by the "reastaurants" banner.
