That's just cruel Brendan, showing me this! I was up to my ankles in icy slush today, pelted with freezing rain, and it's currently -7C and I'm shivering to death wearing two polar fleece tops trying to keep warm in a friend's basement here in Toronto! The heating ain't so good below ground...

I haven't been to the Gold Coast in nearly 10 years and while I have no real desire to visit there again I do miss the romanticised Australian summer beach culture and this picture of yours has managed to merge the decades together into one-- there's a hint of the 60's Women's Weekly impression of the young woman on the beach, probably the colours and classical composition but it's also decidedly contemporary in fashion.

I'll drop you a line as soon as I know precisely when I'll be in London.

Love the eyes. Im sure the bird's eyes popped out when she walked by...Mine would probably have done the same thing:) Wicked colors, great simplicyt in the background, really cool shot.

Sometimes I forget that snow posts here in France mean summer time shots downunder in OZ...
I can't help think that the owl's expression might be a reflexion of the photographers... :-)

Hello Brendan.
This photograph has some wonderful interaction within the frame. The owl with his eyes so wide as the beautiful woman passes by...Not sure the whole translation of what is on her bag...but, I do see Amor and a heart; somewhat like the owl might be feeling. The division within the frame of the black vertical line...and the tag above Mr Owl...what does that say?
Anyhow, a great shot...lots to see.

Very nice photo. It is a really funny scene. The yellow is very strong. I like it. The other colors have a good contrast to it. The composition with the leaving woman is well choosen. All things considered it is a very good job.

Such a good shot, Brandan. I like the way you worked out the question of space for this shot. The girl is at the best point possible for my taste. Oh, I remember that song (even if it never was one of my favorites).

OK! Into my favorites! Can we go back to Christmas Trading? ;)))) My friend, this is simply amazing. I wish I had shot this one myself for my Urban Color theme. That yellow is amazing. But the "plane" and the howl really make a great connection. It reminds me my cock photo with the old couple looking up. Here the owl tells the whole story and share our amazement for the girl. And that vertical black line separating the two plans... So clever! Great great shot!
