Hi Tan,
Lovely shot- nice and clear and very beautiful. I only wish that I could see the entire top of that little peak in the middle! Otherwise incredible...

Tan,
This is a much better image than the WS. The color and lighting are perfect. The contrast in colors make this photo stand out. Your use of sun and shade with the reflection is great. This would make a great postcard!

i like the autumn colours here. certainly a lot of difference between this shot and the workshop version. were the water levels down? would have been nicer if the water level was higher. the reflection adds something positive too. i look forward to some more shots from the area. thanks

Hi Tan. After looking at this and your posted workshop I can see why you made this your feature photo. I am also sure you agree that having a zoom lens with you while you were out here certainly came in handy.
The photo has a nice balance and contrast between the fall colors in the bottom of the frame and the hillside in blue tones up top. An excellent photo yielding very pleasing results. Thanks for sharing!

Hello, Tan--
nice work on this one, i think that i like the composition here quite a bit more than in the workshop, it just seems a little bit more finished. The yellows of the foreground really pop out, fading into cooler and duller greens in the background contributing to the depth of the piece. Thanks!

By the shape it looks like a glacier lake. The scenery is wonderful and the different levels of colour are beautiful. Well done.

Hi Tan. For a moment I thought this was in Switzerland. I think it still worked well even at 70mm. You might have been able to shoot several shots and stitch them together to get a wider view. Great shot Tan.

I see that you have found the same golden colour as from Switzerland. Interesting variety of colours. I also like alternation of shadow and sunlight.

Hi Tan,
very beautiful autumn colors on your capture. The light was not the best for the wide angle as visible in the WS, but here it is wonderful. I really like the first enlighted layer of trees and the reflection of the hill in the water.

Hi Tan. Impressive body of water in terms of colour and reflection. The autumn colours in the foreground create a lovely warm contrast to the blue and green in the rest of the scene. Well done. Regards. Klaudio.

Beautiful landscape with super colours. The three different layers with the autumnal colours first, then the blue lake with great texture and reflections, then the greem mountains with areas with nice sun light form an excellent compsotion. very well done.

Hi Tan,
Possibly cropping harder on the top would have made it even better, however the timing was just right to get these rich and so nicely contrasting colors, this is yet another Captain's miracle, I was thinking about them the other day as the Basel cathedral is now again covered with ugly scaffoldings, I wondered if you had phoned the bishop before coming to Basel ;-))
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi, Tan. The contrast between the autumn colours and the lake water works very well. Some nice reflections on the water surface, too. You had to work in difficult light conditions and I think you got the best out of them.

Great idea to cut off the sky and just present the lake and surrounding hills. This puts all attention on the lake, and the curves and reflections are wonderful. It is like a combination of landscape and abstract art. Well done!

Nice landscape. The colors are fabulous.
I like particulary the fact that you did not include the sky. The blue touch is done by the reflexion on the lake.

Hi Tan
What colours in the foreground with an heavy contrast with the blue quiet lake. The wide angle shot shown as WS is not to bad and the light can easyly be enhanced by postprocessing. I do it for you as WS.
Cheers

Hi Tan - the colours are excellent, and while the water isn't perfecty calm there is still a nice reflective effect from it. The wide angle view may have been a better choice had the weather been more favourable, but in this case I can see why you've chosen this image as a mian post.

Very good saturation in the foreground. The trees look like the fire, and the contrast with the cold blue in the lake is absolutely terrific. Very nice compo, giving so many importance to the reflections! Thanks,

Hi Tan,
Well composed with the foreground foliage nicely enhancing and saving the scene from being ordinary. The reflections are quite fascinating. In your WS shots, I really like the second one, as there is much ambience and you managed the light well. This is a good use of the 70-300, though I must say I have not been happy with it myself. Well captured, Tan.

Comparing all three shots (main shot and 2 WS) I think that the main post is definitively the best with its selective framing. The contrast of the blue, green and golden colors are beautiful.

This eagle pov is excellent and I even wish we could see more... That's why I prefer the WS version, especially after the PP made by Fayeulle.
Whatever, an inmpressive place, with beautiful brown colors, especially in the foreground.

Hi Tan
Congrate with the sharp and very colourful presentation of Leirungsvannet. The summit at right is called Knutshøi very fine for a hike. In fact I have some few other shots from that mountain in this little travel travelogue:
http://www.trekearth.com/trip.php?tid=596
Interesting if you look to the same lake in this series - shot from the other side, at a higher level and at another time of the year makes it look quite different.

Hi Tan,
I like it very much, for its wonderful and peaceful mood.
That contrast between the fg (sunny, colorful, well sharpened, kind of flat) and the bg (hazy, pale, mountains) is fabulous, as the smooth reflection of the mountains on the lake. It's interesting how we only see the top of the mountain on the middle as a reflection.
Congratulations.
Regards, José.

Hi Tan. You must be very fit to be walking up all those hills to bring us these marvellous landscapes. This POV is much more impressive than what you showed us in the WS (although that might have made a good composition if the light had been better). The rich colours in the foreground of your main post really helps to set the shot off. Cheers . . . David

Hi Tan,
I like the bright reflection against the autumn colors. As to your 'very bad' WS photo, even without the amazing WS, it's beautifully framed and quite pleasant. Many people would be quite pleased with such a shot. Are you a purist that doesn't believe in PP?
