Photographer’s Note

This is Trenno park in Milan, a lot of elderly people stay in this zone of the park to socialize, play cards…and leave their bicycles against the trees.

I’ve just desatureted colors except red to give emphasis to the red bicycle close up and to the flowers and unsharped it a little.

A nice spring moment, Alessandra. You spotted a double repetition here, with the bikes and the trees filling the scene nicely. Your post treatment gives it a soft look and makes the reds really stand out nicely - I have to admit I had to get used to it, but the longer I look at it, the more I like what you did here ;-) Well done, please show us more.

Ale, anche io apprezzo non solo Norbert e Joao. Al mitico parco di Trenno mi legano dolci ricordi: gli amici della squadra di pallacanestro (giocavamo nella palestra Cappelli e Sforza e io non facevo certo il pivot) le partite di calcio miste uomini e donne con l'arrivo della primavera, a settembre l'inizio della stroncante preparazione atletica, lunghe chiacchierate seduti all'ombra di un albero. Anche noi avevamo la nostra via Gluck.

I like your picture very much, Alessandra. You did a very nice work, to let the reds alive. Composition is wonderful too. Makes me wonder if angles like to ride bycicles. I think so.

The fact that you unsharpened a little this picture create a special ambiance the seems very quite. Also, all those bikes make me believe that picture is from Flanders region in Belgium or Netherlands... Though, the trees are well from Italy!
Personally, I would crop the top of the picture to avoid the white sky as so much possible but that still a really nice shot . Bravo, Allessandra!

I have no problem with the desaturated colors, Alessandra, I even find that it is a good idea to have done it to valorize the pink-red of the flowers and the bike.
But I just regret that the bicycles are cut so abruptly out of the frame on the left.
I am also not sure that the leaves in the foreground (at the top-right) are really well necessary.
If you go back there, maybe it is better not to include them in the composition in order to accentuate the graphism of the image.
But it's only my opinion, and your work is already very good like that, Alessandra.

i love your idea and your photo, desaturation of colors except red was a great idea, i would have not thought of that... i´m such a novice here... and unsharpening makes it look almost like a watercolor... i think you have chosen a very special bike as your main subject, well done!!!

Nicely spotted and captured Alessandra - I like the mix of a red bike and the red flowers - alone they would have been nice - whats realy makes the shot must be the repetetion behind - fine work, thanks.

Great shot. Interesting theme and good composition. Wonderful "wahsed" colours. I feel as if I was travelling in time. :-)
