Photographer’s Note
The view from the lake towards the town of Van. Eastern Anatolia, not far from the Iranian border.

Hi Ryno,
a majestic view! Is this the Ararat?
Fine winter colors and a good composition.

Hey Ryno. Superb image of wonderful Turkey.
Hey Gisi.
Ararat is a little too far to visualise so easily in Winter.
That mountain is either Suphan or Nemrut. Probably Suphan.
Nemrut is the cause of Van Lake. When it erupted it blocked the only river leaving the ancient lake. Once blocked it filled up and has maintained its level by pure evaporation. That's why is so caustic.
See ya

I like the point of view which makes a virtue of the foreground rocks and grasses and makes the background mountain more of a supporting cast.
