Hello Laurent,
This is a magnificent portrait. With your excellent composition and exposure, you have captured your subject's soul. That does not mean a small amount of tweaking would not make it better. Move your subject abot one centimeter to the left, so that his right eye (on the viewer's left) passes right through the vertical centerline of the image. It was discovered in 1998 by the British pyschologist, Dr. Christopher Tyler living in San Francisco, that in all great portraits painted by the masters — from Leonardo to Rembrandt (and even Picasso) — the centerline passes very near one eye. (I wrote about this in my book on Leonardo, 'Math and the Mona Lisa.')

Superb portrait! Very interesting person, actually I find him quite humorous with his stare and the 'okay' sign. Great details of his clothes and nice colours. One minor issue is that the door in BG is slightly distracting, apart from that very good stuff.

Peut-être que ce n'est une carte de Nouvel-An ce qui ne l'empêche pas d'être de toute beauté avec ce visage si ibtéressant et aussi un diaphragme assez ouvert qui nous permet d'avoir le fond légèrement flou, mais qui nous montre cette porte qui balance si bien le portrait.

Excellent portrait de ce saddhu qui ne semble pas être un imposteur. Tu as vraiment saisi son expression de sérénité et d’abandon. Belle netteté sur le sujet avec une ouverture stratégique qui donne un background correctement flou, révélant à la fois les détails architecturaux intéressants tout en mettant le personnage en relief.

Du boulot bien ficelé!

P.S.: Je pars pour la Thaïlande et le Cambodge le 18 janvier prochain... As-tu des conseils particuliers pour un gars qui voyage seul? Dois-je m’inquiéter, être extrêmement prudent ou tout baigne dans l’huile? Il est parfois difficile de faire la part des choses entre les mises en garde des guides de voyage et l’état de la situation sur le terrain...Je n’irai probablement pas à Phnom Penh, mais je vais passer plus de temps à Angkor Wat. En Thaïlande, je fais Bangkok puis je grimpe au nord... Il semble que çà bardasse au sud!

Good point from Bulent (batalay), if you watch his eyes and you move your head from one side to the other side of the picture, the eyes of the Saddhu will follow yours. Good photo of this mystical man, I like his adorning beads and bright coloured clothing. He seems very friendly and approachable. It is good that you have offered a rustic background to place behind him to help suggest to the viewer the setting and it also does not distract too much (the window fills the void well and balances the man on the other side). I like the person's face and his painted colours. I wish you both a happy new year, even if I am a little late! Well done, congratulations on this exciting and colourful portrait.
