each one of us uses approx 190lb of plastic each year

in Ontario recetly has been discovered a source of pristine drinking water comparable only to arctic ice, provincial government has issued plans to built garbage dump on top of it.

Hello, Peter--
Very powerful picture with a tremendous note as well. The very moody composition goes well with the message behind it. It's well balanced with some natural towers, the wood, matched by the man-made towers in the background.

between the trash in the foreground & the modern city on the horizon lies the lake as an afterthought

at pelee island ontario, on the east side of the island there is a beach facing east, facing point pelee on the mainland, there is strewn the same kind of debris daily

ABsolutely splendid this one, Peter, you are one serius "cxolorist" in my book! Great title, important theme making fr a terrific TE package. People should be all over this one, deserving as it is... Over and bove the "message" hwever, yu have stamped your artistic imprint here very strongly. A winner!

As we say in Hungarian, the knife opens in my pocket... why the prov. gov't has done this IDIOTIC thing, I don't know. But it makes me mad.
The shot is really fantastic, Peter, with all its marvellous colours and composition. Like how those highrises seem to turn, all this reminds me of Koyaanisquatsi... a world without axis...

Very nice multi-layers compositon. I like the 'dirty' colors that suits well with the image itself and very effective in conveying the urban and modern pollution.

Hi Peter,

A point well made here. It brings to mind a beach I saw in Turkey where the currents left this man made scum across what would otherwise have been an idyllic shoreline.

As for the image, the graduation of colour intensity and sharpness from foreground to background works well and helps focus attention on the foreground. A couple of small points though. First, there's a strip of brownish water near the foreground which has a sudden transition about where the post are and looks a bit odd - was that real or have you intensified it? Secondly, the buildings are leaning at a bit of an angle which doesn't seem quite right for this shot. Is that because of a wide angle lens and do you think it would be better 'corrected'?

Great use of colour which really does accentuate your point about pollution and waste. With a country so large you would have thought they could find ample sites for a rubbish dump.
