Christmas Floodligthted Charles Bridge Tower, Old Town. Charles Bridge is an incredibly beautiful High-Gothic monument and the most significant bridge construction in the Czech Republic. Charles Bridge was built from 1357-1402, it is 515 metres long and 9.5 metres wide. The bridge entrance is protected by a tower at each end. The Old Town bridge tower is considered to be one of the most beautiful towers from the Middle Ages in Europe.
Lighting object immediately left to the bridge tower is baroque church of St.Salvator, which is a part of Clementinum. Formerly a Jesuit college established in the former Dominican monastery of St Clement between 1653 1723. It is the largest complex of buildings in Prague after Prague castle. When the Jesuits had to leave Prague in 1773, the Clementinum became the Prague University and National library.
Finaly, the church with green dome on the left side of this picture is Church of St.Francis from Assisi. Both churches and tower are located on the place named "Knights of the Cross Square". From this point there are nice views across the Vltava to Prague Castle. In the centre of the square there is a bronze Neo-Gothic statue of Charles IV unveiled in 1848 in honour of the 500th anniversary of the founding of Prague's Carolinum University.
I hope, I answered all Your questions. Thank You for workshop, You are absolutely true, I made also sharpening, but too low.

Hey Jiri. Thus is a great evening shot you've captured here. The scene is awash with great detail and colour, but I do think that the image could do with a little extra saturation and sharpness to give it a little more 'pop'. I find that when I reduce a photo in size for the web I have to give it a little bit extra sharpness to emphasise some of the detail. I;ve done a workshop to show you what I mean.

A very good photo, still light enough to see the buildings in the background. But the eye-catcher in this shot is the building left of the bride-tower, but you donīt mention it with a single word. What is it?
Regards, Elvira
Hi Jiri
Nice view on the city and the lights. I like the compo and the use of the natural light. Good compo.
Greetings Albrecht
Hello Jiri. The shot is excellent for a night time shot, with terrific composition and great focus and clarity. I do agree with stig's comment about sharpness, and I think his WS makes your photo even more striking. I also was wondering what the domed building next to the bridge tower is.
Regards,
Andrew
