Photographer’s Note
Hindu pilgrims are about to take a holy dip on the banks of the sacred river "Ganga" at Haridwar city.
the river flows very fast here, pretty dangerous for kids and old people.
merry Christmas in advance btw! :)

Hi Evren...what I like about this....its level of busy things to look at is also what i find difficult visually.....it works through closer and partial observation first for me and then that increases the overall effect of the image....because the recognition of the detail is there in the larger view.........I find myself loving it more and more as I look at it......
Merry Christmas in advance to you too!!
best wises KEv

a wonderful shot. i just love the quality of composition here, with the group of pilgrims in the left fg... and the monochrome gives it a vintage feel.
have a nice time.
Greetings,
Arnab

I agree with KEV. The picture is very interesting to look at and it kind of pulls in, absorbs.. And is also very unreal. I like it.

Hi Evren, merry Christmas to you too! Nice shot. I like the pov and the b&w conversion. It does seem to be floting very fast indeed.

the master of all colors goes b&w!
fantastic view of the river, i notice its margins are always ready to receive people.
do you know the meaning of the signs on top of the poles?

Nice to see you back with film Evren : you were so pissed off to wait for your M8 that you indulged on a M7 or what??
The asph. lens gives it a three dimensional feel and our reading goes flowing with the river.. very very nice.
Merry Xmas to you.

Great composition Evren, the mighty Ganges rushign past, the pilgrims tightly holding onto each other and to the safety chains, lots of detail, I wonder how it would have been in colour.
Have a good Christmas too!

I'm in the UK now, Evren, for Xmas and admiring this splendid B/W from your 35 SUmmilux. This is as good as photography gets for us TE'ers. There is a purity of tones and a sureness of touch here that is deeply impressive.
Haven't heard from you in ages...maybe I've been producing unmitigated cr@p or something...
Oh well, compliments where they are due.
Happy holidays,
Emile

Hello Evren. I am pleased, again a B&W picture from you to see. A dynamic motive and beautiful tone values, - with the M7 taken. The photo pleases me very well. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Amazing current!
What month did you take this photo? When I was there in early May it was perfectly safe to bath.
Beautiful dynamic shot.

Gorgeous epic photo. The composition and detail in this image make it what to me this site should be all about, teaching us about a place, in a novel, beautiful way. I will certainly visit Haridwar city, some day, just based on this image.
