Photographer’s Note

This is the king of the carribean desert, the biggest bird of prey, the crested Caracara or in papiamentu: the warawara.
I chose for this take not because of the quality, but I like the pypical way the bird turns and shows his majestic bill and I like the composition with the giant cacti in front.
I'll post a WS to show the situation whenm I saw it and decioded to get closer crawling among the cacti.

De kwaliteit is inderdaad niet best, maar de manier waarop je hem hebt vastgelegd wel. Natuurfotografie is erg moeilijk en vergt veel geduld en kennis van zaken. Dat je zo'n prachtbeest hebt weten vast te leggen is dan ook bijzonder.

Good capture of this bird with an original framing with the cactus, a little oversharpened but it's well seen!

Un beau sujet pour ta prise de vue : Un rapace méconnu en Europe perché sur des cactus aux pointes acérées.
Hélas, l'image est floue et manque visiblement de pixels.

You've done well to capture this in a natural frame. Like the narrow DOF - very effective.

I like the shallow dof & repetition of the cacti. Perhaps a closer zoom on the bird? Good pp work & a nice blue & green colour combination. Tfs!

Your frame is very interesting with different kind of bird at middle of cactuses. Your workshop photo gives another good idea about surroundings. Congratulations.
