Photographer’s Note

This is the night shot of the Chishinau Town Hall. Only a few buildings of our city are at least somehow lighted, and this building is one of them. It was designed by the architect Bernardazzi in the 2nd half of the 19th century, and was initially intended for market place. On the whole, the most beautiful buildings of Chishinau were designed by this very architect.

The shot was made without a tripod. (On the whole supercompact looks rather strange on a tripod :))

А у меня отдаленные родственники живут в Рени. Да. Хотя это почему-то не Молдавия, а Украина. Красивая фотография, трудно сделать нормальный ночной снимок, а тут получилось.

Привет,Вадим! Снимок интересен прежде всего как ночной Flash shot!Приятно увидеть знакомое здание и даже узнать имя архитектора!Пролетающая тачка даёт хороший динамичный эффект!

Замечательная ночная фотка - цвета и фокус отменные. По всей видимости эти маленькие каноны в многих отношениях лучше многих зеркальныг камер сменной оптики...

Vadim,
this is a very succesfull shot of the building. I tried to capture it as well when I visited Chisinau in 1997, but I got no good result. Congratulations.

Chisinau impressed me by it's tranquil beauty that it had despite the terrible bombings in two WW's. It had to do with the many parks distributed all over the city.

About Alexander Bernardazzi: I learned of him only in Chisinau, despite the fact that his parents were Swiss, from the village Pambio near Lugano. I was in Pambio and nobody could help me to find out more. There are some families named Bernardazzi left in the village.
