Photographer’s Note
Whilst I was walking on Bourke Street, which is one of the main walking streets where alot of street artists are performing/basking. This is a shot of one whom is mimicing a female statue from victorian time.
He is really good and when he remains still, he really looks like a stone victorian statue. This is one of the angles I took which I preferred because of the DOF, with him painted against the blurred colourful background.
Hope you guys like it :)
The exposure settings were:-
Shutter: 1/1250
Aperture: f2.8
Focal Length: 150.00mm
ISO: 100

Interesting subject and a pretty good shot overall. However, it is quite a bit underexposed, and a greater exposure would have brought out more details in the face, which is usually helpful. Also, a slightly looser crop, so that it isn't cutting his elbow would work for me.

Nice colors and composition!
I would lighten up the subject's face a little to bring more attention to it though.

Hello Jon.
It is a fine use of DOF. I really don't mind the framing here, the elbow doesn't seem to hold too much importance for me. It is quite underexposed, but that has given you some good colors. If it was so bright that 1/1250 was neccessary, you might want to consider a filter. All in all, not a bad shot at all...it does have an artistic feel to it.
Regards,
Chris.

Hi Jon,
Good composition.
It's a bit underexposed. I will however try to use an editor to increase the contrast - increase the highlight, the light and the shadow. Doing so would darken the face and brigten the hair and shirt, and sharpen the color further. The resultant picture will be more colorful with the artist (statue?) coming out more from the background.

The way you framed the image creates perfect mix, blue is best choose. Placing in the image for the woman well seen, white cloath and hair is a nice mix with background colours.

Good innovative shot :).. Well done. Do agree that perhaps it would be definitely be nicer if the face was abit brighter.

Hi, Jon.
The DOF is really the differential here, very clever use of a shall depth of field. I miss some more light in the subject, but the image is great as it is, very well composed.
Regards and TFS.
