glowing canyon after sunset Photo

Photographer’s Note

I took this picture from the south rim of grand canyon (grand-view point).
I had to wait a long while for this soft light to appear after sunset. I had been trying before to get nicer light than that during daytime but the contrast of the light during sunset was too strong. Lukily, a softer lighted shone 10-15 mins after the sun set and provided a nice soft contrast. I still used a graduate filter for decreasing the luminosity of the sky and a polariser to get the colors out more (although this light is probably unpolarized!).

I removed some dust specks in the sky and reposted today.

Hi Marcelo,
I tried myself photographing this beautiful place and was not really satisfied with the end result. This place is to huge to record in one single image.
Yours is also wide and open, the view goes for miles and is really bright in contrast and colour toning which is really good. But also here, for people who have been there, the picture does not display how it is in all his beauty. That has nothing to do with your photo which i find very pleasant to look at in a wonderful colour tone, but the majestic feeling of the canyon when you are standing on the edge is not here in this picture.

Marcelo: super landscape with overarching detail with that wide f/stop. Colors are great, couldn't be finer. Very nice work. regards, c

Hello Marcelo,
Very nice, i can feel the radiance even after the sunset. The horizon is like a straight line.
And it was worth your waiting, the timing is just right.
