Photographer’s Note

We were having a walk along the Doncaster River near Sainte Agathe in Quebec, when we encountered this amazing natural phenomenon...
It really made us think about water lilies made of ice and snow, some of them, "younger" than others, were still flat, "olders" had a rounded beveled edge probably due to the mini collisions with others...
They were maybe 20cm wide and 5cm thick.
If someone has the real explaination, please, enlight us !
