Photographer’s Note
Auschwitz Berkenau for me was a moving experience. After catching a 3 hour train from Warsaw and then a one hour drive from Krakow I ticked off my list of things to do before I die, another item. Visiting Auschwitz.
On the day this photo was taken, ice winds were howling accross the plains, the tempreature was 2degrees C and the wind ate into my bones. I could almost see the train standing on the platform, SS guards with whistles and German shepards on leashes trying to herd a container full of new inmates.
Throughout the museum, flowers were left in memory of a loved one. Even still today, 60 years alter.
