Photographer’s Note

Mevlana was laid to rest beside his father in Konya and over his remains a splendid shrine was erected. The 13th century Mevlana mausoleum with its mosque, dance hall, dervish living quarters, school and tombs of some leaders of the Mevlevi Order.

The mausoleum continues to draw pilgrims from all parts of the Muslim and non-Muslim world, mainly because, although Mevlana was a philosopher and mystic of Islam, he was not a Muslim of the orthodox type. While he was a devout Muslim, his doctrine advocates unlimited tolerance, positive reasoning, goodness, charity and awareness through love. To him and to his disciples all religions are more or less truth. Looking with the same eye on Muslim, Jew and Christian alike, his peaceful and tolerant teaching has appealed to men of all sects and creeds.

bonjour Cengiz,
tout à fait excellent, superbe. J'adore le coup d'oeil et le point de vue. Deux batiments en un, avec un contraste de couleur. J'aime aussi beaucoup la côté prison de la fenêtre.

Hi Cengiz. Lovely shot, a nice homage to a great man. I was there not that long ago and it was a moving experience to stand in front of his tomb while a dervish played the ney. I like the colours and the spirit in this photograph. The glow of reason through the bars of rigid conformity. Nice symbolism. Salaam. Klaudio.

Well framed composition with the Mevlana Mausoleum. I was there once before more than 10 years but I can clearly remember my feelings from that time. I was enchanted by the atmosphere and the flute and drum dervish music.

Merhaba Cengiz,

Çok güzel görülüp tasarlanmiş bir fotograf. Aslında teknik olarak bazı hatalar varsa da şahsen çok beğendiğimi yazabilirim. Bu işler sehpasız yürümez, 1600 ISO yerine 200 ISO kullanmak daha saglıklı. Ayrıca ben bir WS yaptım renk düzelttim biraz daha sarı oldu.

her gidisimde ve görüsümde duygulanırım,gördügümüz kesit de cok anlamlı geldi, ve o muhtesem renk ve koku , simdi bile hala yasıyorum sanki...önemli olan da ayrı olsak da beraber olmak degil midir ögretileri ve düsünceleri ile, derin bir anlayıs ve hosgörü.ısık ayarı ve POV ile zenginleştirilmiş , cok anlamlı ve duygulu mistik bir fotograf.uygun zamanda gönderilmis ustelik, Konya da sema gosterilerinin basladıgı bir zamanlama, bir seridir umarım da bu iki fotografla bitmez, tesekkürler bizi oralara götürdügün icin cengiz.

Ahmet Altan'ın "Cami Işıklarına Bakan Çocuk" diye bir yazısı vardı. Fotoğrafınızı görür görmez o aklıma geldi. Nedense bu fotoğraf, (tıpkı diğerleri gibi) çekenin içinde bulunduğu haleti ruhiyeyi yansıtıyor gibi geldi bana. Işık orada duruyor, ama arada demir parmaklıklar!.. İlginç kompozisyon doğrusu.

Superb. The first time I have seen this one and am very impressed with the clarity and the novel POV. although I have been there - did not see anything quite as beautiful as this photo. Well done.
