Photographer’s Note
Early morning mist rises half a mile from Sussex, an agricultural centre in southeastern New Brunswick. Sussex claims to be the dairy capital of the province and lies on the primary highway route between Moncton and Saint John. The farming communities of the Kennebecasis River Valley depend upon Sussex for supplies and much of the landscape remains relatively untouched and pristine since the first major land clearing occurred in the early part of the nineteenth century.

Hi John
A nice, soft dawn light in this shot. I can't do them here - too early (sun rises at about 430 here in summer;).
There is a nice colour to the shot - did you play with the levels afterwards at all? Having the equipment there adds some interest.
Cheers

Hi John,
Another great shot New Brunswick. Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day...
Nice composition, realistic colors, virtually no noise- but I'd be tempted to 'tweak' the levels slightly to boost the highlights and make it a bit more 'punchy'.
All the best,

Hi John! Very beautiful landscape...the colors and lighting are excellent...i think you've waited for the right time to capture the right light. The sharpness is also wonderful. I've seen similar landscape in the Alberta prairies during my short visit there, I really like the wide open fileds. rgds.

Hello John -
Stunning! Such a blue sky for so early in the morning. The long foreground shadows add depth while the rising fog adds immense interest to this fall image. There is so much detail for the viewer to his/her eyes upon. Well done!

Hi John!
In opening the photo, first thought that came was: This has to be morning! The light is the light of morning. The smell is the smell of morning! ;) Ok, that last part is a bit of a joke, but what I try to convey here is that this picture is so "real" in a way, that it is almost like if I was right there, in that field.
A pleasure to look at this!
I'm always fascinated by these tillage equipment that seems to be forgotten in the middle of nowhere. Why? That is a big mystery that is puzzling me. I guess they are left there for good photographers... ;)

Hi John!
Spectacular view of this «all-canadian» field. Actually, at the first look at thumbnail size, I taught it was a british scene.
The low clouds in the morning light make your image «breath taking». Excellent use of the foreground object.

Hi John,
Beautiful warm color tones but on the other hand strong deep contrast and deep saturation, really amazing how you captured this. The light is absolute stunning. The longs shades in the foreground create perfect depth.
But most of all it are the last remains of the clouds what really lift this picture up to a higher level....wonderful..!!!

You nearly fooled me listing here Sussex, I first believed it was a photo from your UK trip earlier ! It's a nice rural image which presents nice alternating tones in the fields and is luminous. I appreciate the use of this device to introduce to the view. This place is some flight hours away from BC, did you fly there for fall colors ?

Olá John, I'll have to check that "grad tint"...The colors are absolutely great here and you also had that mist to enchanting your landscape. Hi John,
The light in the mist is wonderful. You've done well at avoiding blowing out the detail; a common result I get when shooting scence like this. The framing is great; moving from the shadowed farm tool to the golden field and then to mist tucked along the rolling hills.
I showed this to Larry and he asked, "Where is the ox team?" We did see a working ox team the time we flew to Montreal and drove to NS.

I love this almost pastoral scene, John. The colours and the lights are beautiful. And the way you used the gentle undulation of the landscape and this machine is fabulous.
