Photographer’s Note

Pitched outside the singular Ngorongoro crater are several Maasai villages. As almost every tourist does passing through, we stopped for some cultural education. The chief provided us a tour of his humble home made of cow dung, in which a campfire was burning on a midsummer's day. While my wife danced a bit with the colorfully dressed women, I let the men take some pictures with my camera (which was fascinating to see what turned out). The children also impressed us with the alphabet song. As this photo shows, we met a beautiful woman whose kind smile could melt the hardest of hearts.
