Photographer's Note
Encountered this saddhu on my way to Muktinath via the Kaligandaki Gorge, the world's deepest, if measured from Himalayan summit to river's bottom. This man was on his way back south. Although the walk can be solitary for most of the day, your sure to pass at least a few other trekers or pilgrims as you near Kagbeni.

hey caleb stop talking and join your saddhu friend who seems to be carrying your wind stopper...;-) lol Did you walk all alone thru this gorge? how long was the walk? almost a pity you did not get closer to him and keep the landscape as it is but more like a nice background.. just adding some close up on him would make this shot even more powerful for me;-);-)

Wonderful scale, certainly makes me want to go and see Nepal! I think the size of the saddhu puts him in the proper context - i.e. small compared to the incredible landscape he's passing through.

Caleb,a stunning view of the dried out river bed along the Kaligandaki Gorge.Crisp colours and great cloud capture.
I am curious to know if this rockbed in covered in deep water after the snow thawing in the mountains?

Looks like there are no road bridges in this area & it's 4x4 only. Great landscape.

amazing landscape. Didn't make it all the way up there unfortunately. Looks great! Excellent to bump into a Sadhu over there!
Love all the different elements in this photo!

Nice photo! The contrast between the man and the mountains at the back is striking. Also like the plane between them that make the man stand out. A closer photo to the man would also have worked really well.

Beautiful shot, Caleb. The landscape is very impressive. I like the way you have framed the shot, with the man in the corner. The colours of his clothes really separate him from the rest of the composition. Well done.

You are one lucky, far reaching adventure photographer Caleb. I believe this is one of your favorite photos. I know it is. Just love those mountain range with its snow streaks and its abovehanging clouds.Love this. Thanks Caleb

Not a place where to expect a saddhu. Good he's wearing sandals. I'm sure hobbits would not like this rocky terrain.
The photo is interesting for various reasons. The two mountains showing different kinds of vegetation (or none at all), contrasting with the rocky area. A good blue sky and of course the saddhu himself. To make the photo even better I would like to see him a bit bigger. Between 1 and 2 points. Ah, what the heck, I give you 2.

Hi Caleb,
An outstanding scenery shot, and most importantly you include a subject to add special interest to the overall composition.
Good job and well done,
Regards,

Otimo enquadramento, as cores fortes deram mais força a imagem de um lindo lugar, acrescido de uma figura típica. Otima captura.

To me this is a celebration of nature and its beauty.THe scale of the mountains and the vastness of the landscape emphasizes the gradeur of the landscape. The man describes the vast scale, while adding a human touch to it. It also seems like a picture about one's journey in life.
