Photographer’s Note
Following up on our recent series of photos from Palma de Baixo.
This very nice old man explained he is 81 years old. "No, you're 82 already", his brother corrected him, standing next to him on the park bench.
In my perspective, his expression is open and sincere. He looks the way he is. He seems frail, but only on the outside.
...
Of course a B/W workshop would be most appropriate, in case anyone wants to take it on. I wouldn't be able to get it right...

Hi, Peter. I like your portrait of this man. Is he a fisherman? And your note about it. I took on your challenge to do the b&w workshop. Went with high con and sharpness. In the color version, I think, if you were so inclined, you could blur out or change the background. In b&w it doesn't seem so much a problem. I see that you could crop it in a number of ways, too. A close crop on just his face might be nice. -Hugh

Hi Peter,
Beautiful portrait of this expressive man.I agree with Hugh for the B&W treatment, it permits to avoid the distraction caused by the background.I think I would have put a B&W less intense, sweeter than the WS proposed but the idea was yet there.

I do like the crop very much but that white car really messes the compo. You have to be careful about this things when looking at something. Easier said than done, I know! :) I also think you could go a bit harder on the sharpness to contrast and show a bit more the awesome wrinkles of this old man. Nice shot!
