Photographer’s Note
This is Ait Benhaddou, a fortified city near Ouarzazate. It is now listed as an UNESCO World Heritage site. It has been in a few films, including Gladiator, Kundun, and Lawrence of Arabia, among others. It is situated in the middle of a very barren, almost lunar looking piece of land, although right in front of it there was a creek with a patch of oasis.

Hi Marion, You have caught a scene which is evocative of all sorts of mental images of exotic locations and times past. Did you consider cropping some of the area at the bottom of the shot, leaving it more of a panorama? Great shot in anyway, though. Cheers, Steve

great shot. the pedestrians at the bottom give us an idea of the grandeur of the whole site... Steveh's comment regarding the panoramic croping is a good idea, but i still LOVE this image. congratulations. Michel
