Photographer’s Note
Burma/Myanmar is an amazing country with amazing people. As many people I am sure have shared, Bagan is a must visit and experience place for its spirituality and for it sunrises.

Hi Paul - this works very well for me. A nice clean portrait with a blurred background - but still enough detail there to add interest.
Well composed, well shot - nice one.

Welcome to TE Paul, a fine B&W portrait, nicely composed with good use of DOF.

Wonderfully worked on B&W...
The short DOF, offcentred Composition all enhances the distant look of the monk in the scene..
Well presented.
Cheers,
prem.

Nice idea to repeat the idea of the monk with the temple in background.
Good light and constrast that help to give a very soft picture.
Good job,
Regards
Jean-Claude

a really good photo paul. i'm glad you had the courage to ask the monk to model for you (by sitting where you could frame a pagoda nicely into the background).
i like your framing and the choice of b&w is good.
as a constructive criticism, i'd suggest making the b&w more sharp and contrasting. just to make the photograph more appealing.
edit: i've decided to whip up a very quick workshop for you ... just to illustrate my point of view. :)
however, great job!

Hi Paul, excellent portrait - and Davids' workshop has certainly helped to bring it to life. The composition is well balanced and nice use of POF. From looking at your other shots it is certain you have a keen eye. Regards, Roberto
