Photographer’s Note

The small villages of Tuscany are just lovely and you often get a feeling that time is standing still. And it probably is in some ways. For example; the men seem to have a lot of time to hang out with their friends down at the cafe while the women always seem busy around the house or in a hurry to the grocery store. If you ever see a woman 'hanging out' around here it is on a chair by her appartment door for a few minutes. And even then with some work in her hands, no time to be wasted.

At least I managed to catch the legs of one of these heroic women as she took five in the sun outside her door in the alleys of Montieri.

This is a nice original take on street life, Ebbe. I love the long shadow of the one building, and yes the legs sticking out add a nice element.

I can imagine you approaching and when you noticed the photo opportunity you might have moved like a cat in order not to disturb the lady from her affairs.

Hi Ebbe,

a nicely captured quiet moment you offer us here. The legs are all we need to really sense the relaxed state of not only the person but the town. harsh light you were fighting, and you generally pulled it off quite well.

Great image, I like it a lot. The perspective given by the light is great, and the woman's feet really seem to be taking a rest. Nice note too.

Ha, very nice catch Ebbe.
Underlines your statement pretty well, I almost get the feeling that she is hiding in the shadow "stealing" the 5 min.
