Photographer’s Note
The beach at Poole in Dorset on a cold but sunny sunday in november. It was a lot brighter than my photo would suggest, but shooting into the sun got the kind of silhouette effect I was after.
On the extreme left of the land mass you can see in the distance is a rock formation called Old Harry's Rocks.
I cropped the bottom of the photo as it was just an expanse of sand, this had the added benefit of bringing the horizon line lower in the frame.

Beautifull sky and nice silouettes on the beack. The light is a bit arsh but you managed it very well and the large reflexion on the sea is good.
All the best,
Emmanuel

Hi Peter. This is obviously a popular beach even in autumn, its good to see people out enjoying the good weather. Great photo, I love the effect the light has had on the scene. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Hi Peter,
Nice panoramic of this beach, with a bold setting with the Sun affecting directly on your POV. Good diagonal of the beach, a very nice sky and a few spectacular clouds, with the silhouettes of the people in a great cross-light.
A brilliant and dynamical photo.
Regards,
Josep

You can get some really amazing effects by shooting into the sun and it's always worth a try. I like the lighting on the clouds and the downward rays from the sun. The silhouetted figures on the water's edge really stand out. Good shot.

Pretty effective shot, Peter--nice exposure to highlight all the people at the shore. Great clouds, too. I think there's a little too much dark beach at the bottom--you might crop just below the man and dog, to make it more panoramic. Regards, Ken.

Hi Peter - a very difficult light, the sky is wonderful, if a little bright, which is understandable since the sun itself is in the frame, still good enough details in the fg.

Hi Peter,
The cold beach is almost palpable from here. I like the way the silhouetted figures are dotting the shoreline and the land mass in the distance angles into the frame. The cloud effect is well done, with good use of the polarizer. Well captured, Peter.

Hi Peter
eventhough is hard to take photos against the sun, your result here is really good. I like the clouds, the sky, seems amazing!
And the people, all in shadows, are great, giving us the sense of dimensions...
Well seen!
and thanks for your visit to my gallery, I´m glad you like my photos... and I also think that the Sepia one ist the best of the serie (i´m not so humble, as you can see ;) ).
Saludos, Paula.
