Photographer’s Note

After rowing across foggy Lake Bled (see my previous postings) the island (where stands St. Mary's church) reveals its vivid autumn colors and sparkling white steps. Inside the church visitors can ring the church bell by pulling hard on a thick rope hanging in the center of the church. I have to admit my boyfriend and I raced up the white steps to be the first that morning to ring the bell!

Great image. Lovely colours and the image is very sharp. The misty effect in the background adds to the peaceful mood of the image. If I was being very, very fussy I would say that the boat looks a little too moden and detracts from the mood somewhat. However, this is a very minor gripe with a very strong imagae in my opinion.

Excellent prise de vue et superbes couleurs d'automne. J'aimerais bien être là pour voir ce magnifique paysage. La réflection dans le lac, les arbres et les montagnes qui se perdent un peu dans la fumée atmosphérique, tout est là pour une belle photo.

Nice coposition here! An older boat would have fit the mood of the photo better but you can't control that. Very nice colors and sharpness. The mist and soft focus in the background fits the photo well.

Your new landscapes are doing you proud, Sherry. beautiful autumn colour-tones and very nicely composed, you have a nice diagonal running throughout. I wonder if you had lowered the camera a little to crop the sky out completely and retain more of the reflections in the lake..........

Very nice vibrant colors of the foliage. Bled island is really magic where trees have some 'shining transparency'. It's a pitty you did not make any shots in the church yard or on the stairway. Or maybe you did? :-) Cheers - Vilius
