Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken at Drakes Beach in Pt Reyes national seashore. A couple of times a year the sun sets on one side of the bay and the moon rises on the other. This photo was taken shortly before the moonrise as the sun was setting. There had been some rain earlier in the week which created enough water for a reflection.
All in all Pt. Reyes is a lovely place, lots of hiking trails and some backpacking campgrounds.
I didn't do much work to the photo, just some spot clean up due to a dirty lens and a level adjustment.

Hi Hilari
I liked most the deep portions of light an shadows in your photo.
Very beautifull place,
Goos DOF, POV, sharpness and fantastic colours.
Besides the very good composition.
Well done.

Hi Hilari,
Lighst, reflection, textures, shades... everything is beautiful in this shot. Your compo is very good, however I think it would be better if you crop a little from the sky, for example, for not center the horizon line, but it's not very important in this case, because the effct given by the light in the rocks, the reflection and the shadow in the sand is absolutely beautiful! Thanks. Best wishes,
Angel.

Hello Hilari -
This is a nice image and pleasing to look at. I like the composition and the reflections of the cliffs in the pool of water. The image was surely captured at the best time of the day. Your exposure looks to be on the money. My only negative comment is that since the shadows take up about 50% of the image I think there should be a touch more detail. If you have PhotoShop CS or CS2 try using the Shadows & Highlight adjustment to open the shadows a touch. Well done,
Thanks for sharing

Wow I didnt see this one printed out. Nice job on the framing. I love how you got the wood reflection in the water, it makes me look at it on land.
Post some Kahili shots......

This is one of the loveliest shots of this location I've seen! Your use of light and shadow is excellent, and you've captured the details in shadow without washing out the sky. The only thing I might do is lighten the driftwood just a fraction (1-2%) if it can be done without looking artificial; I'd just like to see it better.
Great shot!

Hilari,
I know the place quite well and I have some shots of the very smae place in my galery too. Lovely sunset mood at Drakes Beach that you captured here with the characteristic orange glow on the rocks. We will have a TE meeting next June there at Point Reyes. Any interest in joining us?
Regards, Peter
