This picture I took spending an autumnday at the Veluwezoom National Park. In Dutch: Nationaal Park Veluwezoom. It wasn' t a very sunny day, but still a nice day for a long walk through the park.
Here's some info on the park:
De Veluwezoom National Park is the oldest Dutch national park and is characterised by its elevation above sea level, unusual in the Netherlands. The area is dominated by long hill ridges, and a rich diversity of woodland, heath and areas of shifting sand. There is a distinct difference between the north and south, the northern part being more rugged, while the south is characterised by its genteel country estates and stately lanes. Ice Age influences are still visible in this area.
Park’s main features: Woodland, heath and shifting sands
Special flora: Tall bracken, gorse, many species of moss, dry heath
Special fauna: Red deer, wild boar, pine marten, badgers, reptiles, and many rare bird species
Recreational activities: Cycling, walking, excursions
Area: 5,000 ha
Province: Gelderland |
