Photographer’s Note
[Hindu women performing puja (worship) in traditional way.]
Candles are offered to god out of devotion and after the ceremony gets over the flame is considered sacred and people put their hands (not shown) over the flame and feel its warmth on their forehead. Seen here is one woman moving the diya (a traditional form of candle)in an interesting spiral motion and chanting prayers while others are seen offering their prayers with folded hands. To the right side are the priests (partially out of frame) who lead the ceremony and seens as vanguards of Hindu tradition, culture and spirituality.
[PP]: Used neatimage software to reduce ISO and increased sharpness to some extent.
Decided against cropping out the priests to highlight their importance and preserve the mood of the situation.
