Photographer’s Note
A shot from a road to the top of mount Nirito, on the northern peninsula of Ithaki. The mountain has two peaks, 806 and 809 meters high, according to my map. They are the highest peaks of the whole island. Somewhere on the mountain there is a monastery, where some monks live peacefully. You can see it on the map info, a bit NNE from the spot this shot is taken from, it has red roofes. Unfortunatly we did not had the time to visit it, as we had to catch the (last) boat back to Lefkada.
Ithaki is small but very beautiful, if your in the neighbourhood (Lefkada or Kefalonia) I can recommended you to visit it some day!
On the way to the top we stopped a few times to enjoy the view, as we we're pretty high and the view was wide. Also encountered some goats near the top. This was one of the results. Hope you like it!

A great point of view it shows the altitude as well as the details of the location, such as the texture of the road and the details of red rocks on the side. I magine it is fun driving this road although it may be torture for someone who suffers from motion sickness. The clouds are beautiful.

The winding road leads us to the top of the slope and at the same time provides an interesting foreground for the view on the bay.
Good perspective and composition.

Hello Emiel,
Interesting point of view for the curvy road!
The steep hillside tells about the elevation in this most clever composition...
Very good sky and lovely details in the landscape!

Hello Emiel -
Interesting composition though I think something is missing. A person, an auto, or anything to give the image some life. The landscape portion of the composition is very nice I like how the diagonal hill slope has divided the image into two distinct areas of sea and sky and landmass. The dark ridge as the divider and as a separator between the background and foreground works well. The technical stuff looks to be spot on.
Thanks for sharing

it is a very sharp curve especially for cars that are going down. rather than the mountain or location info that took my attention the most.. I ve never seen such curve in anywhere I drove. very interesting view
