Photographer’s Note
Remember this interview of Dave Grohl, the guy from the Foo Fighters’ rock band, when he was asked about why he chose “The color and the shape” as a title for his album? True, why should you remember? Nobody does… Well, the point is that he answered “one day I just sat and I saw a pen on my table, I never noticed that pen before but when I looked at it, I felt like I just liked “the color and the shape”, so it gave me this idea for my next album’s title…” (Oh Dave… a true hero…)
It’s a bit of the same story for me and this photo…

Hi Vincent,
No points yet? I don't get why there are so few traffic on your image, it is really interesting to read, does not come immediatly but once you get it, it is just a marvoulous shot.
Well done
Vincent

Good colors, strong composition and huge graphical impact. Nice curvy diagonal line between sun and shade. And for me at least, most interesting thing on this photo is tree which is small sign of life in thise vaste sea of sand.

Hi Vincent,
Great shot ! I love 'the color and the shape'! Namibia should be my next vacation destination (next summer) and I hope to see that kind of landscapes and take that kind of pictures...
Very well done!

It's funny how the tree looks like a bonsai compared to the sand dune...But the strength is may be not where we think... even if the dune seems to dominate the tree, the resistance of this tree is a demonstration of an even stronger natural power! Not so feeble, this tree! Obviously, beautiful colours, shapes and contrast in this image but it has already been noticed.

The lines and shades + heat reflected by the red sand. i like this one,is should include part of the sky but i think this is still great enough. good POV..

Amazing composition and colors. The tree looks so small and insignificant when compared to the desert behind, but at the same time so important for teh composition. Regards, Yvonne
