David
The black and white works really well here - the couple really adds some interest to the shot - a feeling of solitude
Cheers

Hello David,
An excellent b&w seascape with great tones and definition. Good perspective and a wonderful vista. The couple and the interesting sky are certainly a bonus. Like it very much.
Marvellously evocative b/w shot, David. The tiny figures dwarfed by the natural setting, plus the fine wind-blown grasses in the dunes, remind me of Japanese art and film. Great composition and wonderful light on the water under dramatic clouds. Don't know what a Cokin system does, but it does it well. Superb photo.
Regards,
Andrew
PS This place isn't named after George Formby is it? Any connection at all?

Hi David, lovely shot. I really like the sky and the glinting light on the sea, and as other have said, the couple really add interest.

Hi David,
Black and white works so well here, there are so many shades in the shot. Dramatic sky, tranquil beach and made by the couple walking along the shoreline. A great capture, TFS

Great shot - the B&W treatment is excellent, with a little grain in the shot just like you'd get from film. The reflected sunlight on the sea is good, the tones in the sky are another good point.

bonjour David,
j'aime beaucoup le traitement n&b de cette image, cela lui donne davantage de caractère et un côté intemporel.
Très bon cadrage avec ce premier plan.

Interesting effect with the BW conversion of this beachscape, David, I think it makes this shot stand out of the usual yellow sand / blue sea / blue sky pictures, and allows to concentrate on the beautiful light (and to tame the overexposure a bit) and the couple, which gives the sense of scale to the view. Nice composition as well with this dune on the left.
Cheers

Hello David
I like the image, such vast view. Good perspective and lighting. Interesting b&w version, although colour could be not better, I think ;).

Very nice bw shot, David. The space, the tones, the composition--all impressive. I like that you waited for a little couple to appear--the space is magnified with them!

Hello David
B&W is more difficult than colours.
You have done a very nice job with this back lights on the beach.
I note a very good contrast with the grey scale.
Just a little tilt but it's possible to correct easily.
Cheers.
Hi David
This is an interesting shot which captures the tones very well indeed. I also like the sweeping grasses in the foreground. Nice reflection of light off the sea, and a very subtle realisation in tones. Very good work.

hi dave,
excellent, i have to admit that more and more do i love the b/w as a style in the seascapes, there is something unexpected in it, something which makes the image stand out;
powerful scape (untilt the horizon, would help a bit :-))
best wishes, j.

Nicely executed classic B&W seascape. Nicely managed light, and the couple of the beach perfectly placed.

Hi David,
great composition and pov here. The people in the scene really help. Like the B&W. Saw the picture of a red squirrel and thought where did he take that? There are not that many left in England. Then saw this shot at Formby. It's where they have the squirrel sanctuary isn't it?
Anyway, you wanted to know where Skippol Creek was. It's just south of Fleetwood on the River Wyre near Little Thornton next to Blackpool and Fylde Yacht club. Hope this is of help. There is another picture I have done the other day but it doesn't really show a large part of the area.
Thanks David.

Mark

What a superb B&W David and what a dramatic sky!!
The couple add more interest to this picture but for me wasn’t really necessary..

Hi David,
Your idea of b&w format works well, I personally like higher contrast but this one is well balanced. TFS
Fara
atmosphère prenante renforcée par l'usage du N&B ;ce couple semble sortir d'un thriller à la hitchcok...bon même si ils sont "innocents" la ballade que tu nous propose est bien agréable on sent le vent et l'air marin
